The #LatteSalute More Important than #FallenHeroes

obama saluteAs Twitter takes on the recent #LatteSalute excoriating President Obama for returning a salute with a coffee in his hand, I find it ironic that THIS is what gets the public talking about our soldiers and Marines, not their sacrifice and dedication. I don’t see #6807, the number of  U.S. Soldiers and Marines have given their lives for Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn casualties as confirmed by U.S. Central Command. Or maybe #12percent, the number of homeless people that are veterans.

Six days ago, the VA Inspector General acknowledged that long wait times at VA hospitals contributed to deaths of #293veterans. Where was that hashtag?

Most disturbing of all, still no word on the three servicemen killed this month in fighting, which includes Marine Sgt. Charles C. Strong who died 8 days ago from an insider attack in Afghanistan. Also dead is Army Maj. Michael J. Donahue and Army Spc. Brian K. Arsenault, all died serving our country. Do you know their names? Is this the first time you’ve heard them?

It’s time we started acknowledging their sacrifice and standing by their families who need some #AmericanSupportforOurTroops
