You have got to have incredible respect for any woman still participating in life at 100 percent when she’s ready to give birth. I know a lot of you fit into that category; I’m not one of them. So when I read this story about a woman who went into labor on a busy shopping street in Birmingham, England, I was in awe. Was she shopping through the pain? What kind of sales were involved? There had to be some shoes! According to the story, she went into labor “outside the budget fashion store,” and security sprung in action.
Without skipping a beat, she apparently dropped to the pavement and started to give birth. During the chaos, shoppers began filming the surreal scene, which included the new mom waving and onlookers thowing cash, which a local shopkeeper claims added up to a cool $300-$400!
Now that is what I call an awesome labor. The only thing that could make it better is if the new mom returned to shopping after being checked out at the hospital. Baby girl and mom are doing fine.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “A call came into us at 13:56 pm to say there was a woman in labour on New Street. Thankfully an off-duty doctor happened to be there at the time who stepped into help.
“We sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle. It’s a baby girl and it is doing OK and both ambulances handed mother and baby over to City Hospital.”
