Friends had a child out of wedlock. I know she’s a character in a television show, but that depiction made many girls think it’s no big deal to be a single mother. Think I’m wrong? Look at all the celebrities having babies with no hint of a marriage certificate. Now consider this statistic:
“Nearly half of first births were to unmarried women in 2009. Almost three-fourths of births to women under age 25 having their first child were nonmarital.”
