I’m pretty sure if our daughter was getting mauled in a wild animal petting zoo, my husband would become Superman, racing faster than a speeding bullet to her side and tossing the hundred pound animals around like tissue to save her. If it was me, well, I know he loves me, but I think his stance would simply be, “I know you can take care of yourself.” Ok, I’d forgive him, but photographing every bloody scratch and bite, I’m not sure that’s a forgivable act, even if he was just trying to capture our vacation moments.
Maybe that’s what Scottish tourist Archibald D’Mello thought as his wife was being attacked by two cheetahs in the Kragga Kamma reserve in South Africa. As his wife, Violent, struggled, he took a series of photos, including the one where she plays dead and then runs for the gate when the animals are distracted. According to theheraldonline.com:

The “feeding cage”, I mean “petting zoo” is closed for now as the Centre for African Conservation Ecology’s director Graham Kerley has stepped in to investigate:
Of course, we mustn’t pretend. Now turn that damn camera off Archie! Hmmm…if you ask me, that first photo of the cheetah licking his chops may have been a clue that someone should have picked up on…Archie. And, look at picture 9, it almost looks like someone put some sirloin in Violet’s fanny pack…curious
